Job Description

Candidates must be located near central California, with access to major cities such as San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maximize Income Opportunities: Assist licensees in leveraging marketing and merchandising tools to drive sales growth.
  2. Ensure Compliance: Review contractual agreements with vendors to ensure licensees maximize discounts, rebates, and placement allowances.
  3. Financial Integrity: Review sales analysis reports with licensees to ensure financial stability.
  4. Store Operations: Conduct regular store inspections to maintain cleanliness and operating standards.
  5. Financial Viability: Provide guidance on operating expenses to ensure licensees maintain a competitive edge.
  6. Vendor Relations: Assist licensees in resolving difficulties with vendors by serving as a liaison.
  7. Franchise Development: Support Circle K's franchise development strategies by assisting in site selection analysis and franchisee candidate evaluations.
  8. Pricing Strategy: Monitor competition pricing activity, evaluate trends, and recommend retail adjustments to maintain a competitive pricing position.
  9. New Store Openings: Participate in new store openings and site conversions, including floor layout, initial merchandising, vendor communication, and support.
  10. Marketing Programs: Work with local publishers and advertising agencies to develop and implement grand opening and local store marketing programs.
  11. Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
  12. Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure adherence to corporate systems, policies, and governmental regulations, and advise management on necessary actions.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of experience in business, retail operations, merchandising, and/or marketing in the convenience industry, territory/key account management, and fuel retail channel.
  2. Industry Experience: Experience in c-store retail operations preferred.
  3. Financial Acumen: Experience in reading and understanding P&L's, and other related reports, as well as basic understanding of accounting principles.
  4. Communication Skills: Experience in presenting concepts and ideas to small groups, with good public speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Travel Requirements: Some overnight travel required (approximately 2-4 nights per month), with field travel approximately 75%.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000.
