As a Production Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing 2nd shift Production operations, personnel, and safety. You will monitor department costs, quality methods, production hours, labor skills, and furnaces. Additionally, you will participate in planning and staffing requirements.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining production to achieve company goals within acceptable scrap levels
  • Maintaining and enforcing safety programs for the production department; reviewing safety records to uphold company policies and ensure a safe environment for all employees
  • Developing melt personnel while encouraging a team environment
  • Ensuring and auditing 5s+1 policies in the department
  • Working with the team to ensure the department has necessary materials
  • Evaluating the performance of staff
  • Providing leadership and administering company rules, regulations, union rules, and policies

You will be a key member of our team, providing guidance and direction based on people's capabilities. You will adjust communication to fit the audience and message, leveraging each team member's unique background to achieve team goals. You will work to create a feeling of belonging and strong team morale, displaying a can-do attitude in good and bad times.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant years of experience in a green sand foundry commensurate with the level of the position
  • Relevant years of supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment commensurate with the level of the position
  • A high school diploma is required
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability to work weekends, as necessary, to support production
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred qualifications that set you apart include:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a green sand foundry
  • Minimum of two years' supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment
