Overview
The Pressure Relief Valve Technician is responsible for the comprehensive overhaul and assessment of various manufacturers' pressure relief valves, including but not limited to Farris, Consolidated, Crosby, and Anderson-Greenwood. This role involves troubleshooting and testing both in workshop and field settings, with direct reporting to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure a safe and healthy working environment by complying with company and customer safety protocols and legal regulations, while proactively identifying potential hazards.
• Execute all assigned tasks while upholding Apollo's Core Values.
• Conduct repairs on pressure relief valves in accordance with Apollo's National Board Inspection Code-approved quality manual.
• Maintain direct communication with clients regarding service updates and requirements.
• Operate independently throughout the valve repair process.
• Guarantee that all testing and repair documentation adheres to quality system standards and National Board Inspection Code criteria.
Qualifications
• Preferred education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Completion of Pressure Relief Valve Manufacturers Training Courses and/or certifications, as well as National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors training course is preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASME and NBIC codes.
• Travel requirement: 0 to 30%.
Work Environment
• Position is based at a branch or site location.
• Fieldwork entails both indoor and outdoor tasks in a plant environment.
• Collaboration with other crew members, supervisors, and client personnel is essential.
• Work in areas with production machinery, which may involve high noise levels.
• Compliance with safety equipment requirements as mandated by the safety department is necessary.
• May involve multiple job sites in a single day, requiring adaptability to varying climate conditions.
• Occasional out-of-town travel may be necessary.
Physical and Mental Requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Capability to walk and climb, except during non-field duties.
• Clear communication abilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to ensure effective interaction.
• Adequate vision and observational skills, with or without reasonable accommodations, to facilitate investigations.
• Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office tasks.

• Ability to navigate within a refinery or plant environment, including access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
