We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Technician to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and safe preparation and dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV medications, in a sterile and aseptic environment.
- Operate the Pyxis medstation system and pharmacy patient profile systems to manage medication inventory and patient records.
- Prepare and label medications, including IV medications, and ensure accurate documentation and tracking.
- Collaborate with the IV pharmacist to prepare intravenous admixtures and medications in the sterile laminar air flow hoods.
- Process charges and credits to inpatients and outpatients using the hospital computer system.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily stock inventories and medication orders.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) certification or equivalent.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
