Job Title: Mechanical/HVAC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at SSOE. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
  • Conduct utility studies and detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
  • Devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate changes to the team.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
  • Take part in client contact and business development activities.
  • Meet with clients to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
  • Write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
  • Perform design work on CADD.
  • Develop engineering concepts and presentations.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Keep current on new design methods and ideas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of Kentucky is required.
  • PE or PE-tracked preferred, plus five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s) required.
  • Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, and utility piping systems and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.

Salary Range: $95,000-115,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K, PTO & paid holidays. SSOE offers ownership opportunities to all employees at the Associate level and above.
