Position Summary

The Finance and Insurance (F&I) Manager is responsible for structuring automotive financing deals for clients with average to strong credit profiles, ensuring compliance with lender guidelines and dealership policies. This role is crucial for facilitating prompt funding and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position requires a Finance Manager with sales management capabilities, as the individual will also support sales managers and step into their role during absences.

Key Responsibilities of the F&I Manager

  • Understand and apply dealership policies and procedures effectively.
  • Maintain an organized and professional office environment.
  • Promptly communicate any problematic deals to management.
  • Address any missing documentation required by lenders without delay.
  • Uphold a high standard of professional ethics and respect towards customers.
  • Possess knowledge of state finance regulations and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train and guide sales staff on changes in regulations and compliance.
  • Structure financing deals in line with lender and dealership standards.
  • Ensure accurate representation of deals and vehicle information.
  • Conduct credit interviews and prepare credit applications.
  • Verify the accuracy of all information on credit applications before submission.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information.
  • Communicate financial details transparently to customers.
  • Promote credit insurance and service contracts.
  • Foster strong relationships with lenders.
  • Keep an updated lender guide and develop familiarity with available programs.
  • Evaluate new lending programs and present findings.
  • Engage with lenders to discuss deals and ensure thorough processing.
  • Maintain an inventory log and provide recommendations to management.
  • Assist in moving older inventory effectively.
  • Manage call-in logs and contracts in transit for funding.
  • Train administrative staff on preparing funding packages.
  • Review funding packages prior to dispatch.
  • Demonstrate vehicles when necessary.
  • Create and manage advertising for special finance opportunities.
  • Analyze credit reports to identify conventional deals.
  • Accurately cost special finance deals and prepare profit sheets.
  • Process deposits promptly.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an F&I Manager is recommended.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills are essential.
