As a Manufacturing Solutions Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing the order fulfillment process for our clients. This role requires on-site engagement at customer facilities, where you will collaborate directly with engineers and procurement professionals to gather order specifications and requirements, providing critical support and expertise to optimize the ordering workflow.

Your position will serve as a vital link between internal teams and external partners across sales, engineering, and operations, ensuring an outstanding customer service experience characterized by a positive and proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in our instant-quoting engine and collaborative platform.
  • Engage with clients on-site to comprehend their specific manufacturing needs and preferences.
  • Accurately gather detailed information on customer orders to ensure completeness.
  • Utilize Xometry's instant-quoting engine to input customer orders via our client portal.
  • Foster relationships and build rapport with clients across engineering, program management, procurement, and other departments.
  • Travel locally to work directly with customers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive and proactive demeanor.
  • Support both internal and external stakeholders across sales, operations, and engineering.
  • Promptly address and resolve any customer inquiries or issues related to orders or quotes.
  • Maintain precise and current records of customer interactions, order details, and quotes.
  • Keep customers informed about the status of their orders throughout the production process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with quick response times to customer inquiries.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer support role within an enterprise environment.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred (aerospace, medical devices, automotive, etc.).
  • Ability to be on-site with customers 3-5 days per week.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
