Research Development Specialist

The Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention and Policy (InCHIP) is seeking a highly skilled research development professional to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in expanding UConn's extramural funding portfolio in the health sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Assist researchers and principal investigators in identifying and interpreting grant solicitations, evaluating project appropriateness, and clarifying proposal components.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, provide document management support, and assist with updates throughout the grant development process.
- Lead InCHIP's research development services, including workshops, resources, training programs, and courses.
- Manage data and reporting of InCHIP research development activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of funding trends and external funding opportunities for health-related research.
- Develop and maintain active communication with faculty and research groups in health sciences and related disciplines.
- Coordinate with internal and external research development and administration staff to build and sustain two-way communication.
- Manage and evaluate InCHIP's internal funding programs.
- Supervise staff and student workers as needed.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field or Master's degree with significant experience in grant writing and editing.
- Experience in grant writing training, external research proposal development, or team collaborations.
- Understanding of grant writing best practices and competitiveness strategies.
- Experience working with research teams and managing complex projects.
- Advanced expertise in proposal development best practices.
- Experience supervising research staff and providing project management support.
- Credentials in an area of special expertise.
- Experience collaborating with faculty in research development efforts.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check.
This is a full-time, end-date, annually renewable position with an excellent benefits package.
