Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Lead Clerk to join our Grocery team at Smith's Food and Drug. As a Night Lead Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the grocery department, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our customers, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Department Operations: Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the grocery department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, note any discrepancies, and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Team Management: Promote trust and respect among associates, communicate company, department, and job-specific information, and collaborate with associates to achieve company/store goals.
  • Performance Management: Establish performance goals for the department, empower associates to meet or exceed targets, and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines, ensuring that all safety regulations and guidelines are followed.
Requirements
  • Effective Communication: Possess effective communication skills, including the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Math Skills: Have knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Management Experience: Preferably have management experience, with a high school education or equivalent preferred.
