Job Summary:

The Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part-time American Sign Language Instructor position. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching Elementary American Sign Language and contributing to the academic excellence of the institution.

Responsibilities:

Teach Elementary American Sign Language
Participate in the assessment of student work and timely submission of grades
Engage in professional development activities and contribute to the larger College or District community

Working Conditions:

The position requires an indoor, office environment with regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The successful applicant must be able to hear and speak to exchange information, have sufficient vision to read various materials, and possess dexterity of hands and fingers to perform the tasks required of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff. The minimum qualifications for this position are defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges published by the Academic Affairs Division, Chancellor's Office, California Community Colleges.
