Job Summary

At NiSource Careers, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor to join our team. As a key member of our Internal Audit Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits and assessments of operating procedures to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement efficient and effective audit plans to test business control environments.
  • Identify and document inherent and residual business risk, as well as expected and existing business controls.
  • Provide insightful recommendations to management on complex risk management and control activities.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and business partners to share knowledge and best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of audit-related experience or equivalent (5+ years for lead level).
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Substantial audit experience and knowledge of the Committee of Sponsoring Organization (COSO) Risk Management Framework.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control principles.
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE certification.
