The Opportunity:

Central Maine Healthcare is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Specialist to join the Nuclear Medicine Team at Central Maine Medical Center. The Nuclear Medicine Specialist prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing and assisting with nuclear medicine and PET/CT examinations.
  • Ensuring direct patient safety and adherence to all procedural protocols.
  • Complying with all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
  • Maintaining accreditation standards set by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Providing Regional Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT support at various contract sites as needed.
  • Assisting in the clinical training of Radiology and Nursing students in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Upholding patient care quality standards across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly.

Education and Experience:
1. CNMT or ARRT(N) certification is required.
2. Must be licensed by the State of Maine as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
3. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification or due within one month of expiration is required.
4. Current DOT HAZMAT training certificate, renewable every three years.
