Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of federal and state tax filings for individuals, corporations, trusts, and exempt entities.
- Development of intricate income tax returns, including those for partnerships and S corporations.
- Creation of quarterly tax projections for review by the Tax Manager.
- Oversight of tax preparation documentation and initial return assessments.
- Management of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
- Calculation and issuance of W-2s and 1099s.
- Drafting of tax-related correspondence and assisting in negotiations with tax authorities.
- Conducting tax research as necessary.
- Supporting the Tax Manager in coordinating audits by various tax agencies.
- Assisting in the formation and dissolution of entities.
- Providing training and guidance to Staff Accountants on tax-related matters.
- Identifying opportunities for enhancing service delivery and communication.
- Building strong relationships with Business Management teams to understand client needs and risk assessments.
- Proactively addressing potential issues and proposing solutions.
- Preparing presentations tailored to various management levels.
- Utilizing tax knowledge to develop strategies for deferring tax liabilities.
- Reviewing general ledgers for accuracy and appropriate accounting treatment.
- Preparing journal entries related to book-to-tax adjustments and ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Creating systems for tax data collection and monitoring to keep supervisors informed of progress and risks.
- Advising staff on the tax implications of corporate strategies.
- Maintaining thorough documentation for all journal entries and deliverables.
- Identifying training needs to bridge skill gaps.
- Monitoring progress against established objectives.
- Encouraging teamwork both within the department and externally.
- Facilitating knowledge sharing to benefit team members.
- Ensuring accurate and timely updates to supervisors regarding project statuses.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in QuickBooks and ProSystems.
- Ability to commute reliably to the office.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with a strong academic background.
- Master's degree in Taxation is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Active CPA license (TN or CA preferred).
- Experience in public accounting, business management, or the entertainment industry is advantageous.
