General Purpose:
Nazareth is in search of a dedicated educator to design, organize, and implement an effective instructional program that guides and motivates students to achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in programming with JavaScript.
- Prepare students for AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles assessments.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with high school learners.
- Develop and deliver engaging instructional activities that promote active learning.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all educational activities.
- Provide challenging instructional lessons.
- Select diverse instructional resources and methods to accommodate students' varying needs.
- Utilize relevant technology to enhance instruction.
- Monitor and assess student performance and growth.
- Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and projects.
- Offer constructive feedback on student work.
- Encourage and track the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and development.
- Ensure compliance with all necessary record-keeping as mandated by law and school policies.
- Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
- Engage in pastoral duties, including providing academic support and encouragement to students.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social events, sports, clubs, and student organizations.
- Attend department and school meetings, as well as parent meetings.
- Communicate essential information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Stay informed about developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methods, making necessary adjustments to instructional plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Fulfill professional teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state.
- Possess a single subject teaching credential or certification in a specialized subject area.
- Prior high school teaching experience is preferred.
- Proficient in relevant technology (JavaScript Coding, Microsoft Office, Smartboard, JTouch, PlusPortal Gradebook).
