Position Overview

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) cultivates partnerships with designated departments to provide value-added services to management and employees, aligning with SVG's business goals. The HRBP acts as a consultant to leadership on HR objectives and collaborates to devise innovative solutions for employee growth and retention. This role serves as the primary liaison between HR and department leaders, ensuring effective communication and implementation of HR programs. Additionally, the HRBP engages with employees to address HR-related needs and concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with management and staff to enhance workplace relationships, boost morale, and improve productivity and retention. Work with managers to create action plans aimed at increasing employee engagement and fostering a culture grounded in SVG's core values of Accountability, Authenticity, and Innovation.
  • Implement HR programs and initiatives, including succession planning, engagement surveys, talent reviews, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular meetings with department leaders to discuss HR matters.
  • Provide HR guidance to leadership as needed.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in collaboration with the HR team to develop effective solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and offering recommendations for resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management, minimizing legal risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Offer performance management support to leaders, including coaching, counseling, and career development.
  • Assist with departmental reorganizations and workforce planning.
  • Work closely with all HR sub-teams (Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Learning and Development, Compensation & Benefits) as well as Technology, Finance, and Payroll to provide recommendations and support.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of HR programs and policies to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HR Generalist or HRBP roles.
  • Proven experience in resolving employee relations issues, performance management, and leadership coaching.
  • Ability to understand the organization's structure, roles, qualifications, compensation practices, and related administrative processes.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws and practices, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC.
  • Familiarity with enterprise HRIS solutions and data analytics (experience with Workday is advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
