At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing flight instrumentation systems that will help us achieve our mission of making humanity a multi-planetary species.

Lunar Transportation: This role is part of our Lunar Transportation business unit, which is responsible for developing Blue Origin's lunar lander product lines. To further our mission, we're building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with design engineers to understand and document instrumentation requirements and interfaces
  • Select, design, and test sensors for the fluids and propulsion integrated product team
  • Engage with instrumentation suppliers to develop flight sensors and create strategic relationships
  • Write specifications, verification plans, and system safety artifacts for flight sensors
  • Create mechanical and electrical drawings for sensor assemblies
  • Plan and execute sensor characterization, verification, and qualification test campaigns
  • Interact with internal and external partners to track instrumentation engineering development and ensure the release of installation drawings per schedule

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree or higher in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or other appropriate engineering or physics field
  • 5+ years of experience in design, test, and operation of transducers for the aerospace industry
  • Experience managing suppliers and projects from initial concept through production
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NADCAP processes (welding, soldering, brazing)

Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $125,400.00-$175,560.00; WA applicants is $136,800.00-$191,520.00

Other site ranges may differ
