Job Summary

We are seeking an outgoing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team as an Activities Director. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the activity programs of our facility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of this facility
  • Review department policies and procedures, and participate in making recommended changes
  • Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family
  • Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments
  • Interview resident/families as necessary and in private setting
  • Assist in arranging transportation to other facilities when necessary
  • Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the activity department
  • Maintain a productive working relationship with the medical profession and other health-related facilities and organizations
  • Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator concerning the operation of the activity department
  • Be able to assist and coordinate family visits

Requirements

  • Valid CNA license
  • Must be a qualified Therapeutic Activities Specialist or an Activities Professional who is licensed by the state of Florida and is eligible for certification as an Activities Specialist or as an activities professional; or must have, a minimum, one (1) year experience in a social or activities program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was a full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or must be a qualified occupational therapist (OTR) or occupational therapy assistant (COTA); or must have completed a training course approved by this state

Experience

At least one (1) year experience as an Activities Aide preferred
