Job Title: Retail Art Materials Full Time Sales Associate

At Plaza Artist Materials, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Retail Art Materials Full Time Sales Associate to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, selling art materials, and designing custom framing. They will also be responsible for receiving, stocking, and maintaining store inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess and maintain knowledge of artist supplies, creative materials, and techniques.
  • Assist customers with product purchasing and provide expert advice on art materials and framing.
  • Receive cash, credit, or debit charges, check payments, and redeem gift certificates and coupons from customers.
  • Be aware of special sales and promotions and communicate this information to customers.
  • Facilitate special orders and store transfers of requested items from other store locations.
  • Create invoices for store charges and maintain accurate records.
  • Responsible for keeping assigned work areas neat and stocked daily.
  • Receive shipped merchandise and accurately stock received items.
  • Prepare merchandising displays and support inventory management by accurate shelf labeling and inventory counts.
  • Assist customers with frame design and completed framed art pickups.
  • Responsible for the transfer of the bank deposit from the store to the bank.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when relating to superiors, coworkers, and customers.
  • May be required to open or close store while following company procedures.
  • Must be punctual and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all other duties assigned by Store Manager.

Requirements:

  • Possess interpersonal skills crucial for relating to customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn procedures and follow directions with confidence, cooperation, and flexibility.
  • Must be able to multi-task, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
  • Must possess stamina and be computer literate with basic arithmetic skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in merchandising and art framing is preferred.
