Job Overview:
This position is for a temporary Surgical Technologist role within the Main Operating Room at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The role involves working in 13-week intervals, providing as-needed employment. Key responsibilities include preparing surgical supplies, maintaining a sterile environment, passing instruments during procedures, and assisting with room setup.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or military surgical scrub tech training with at least 24 months of experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience in a direct patient care role within an acute care hospital in the last 24 months.
- Assessment of surgical procedures.
- Preparation of the operating room.
- Completion of cases and follow-up.
- Exemplary professional performance.
- Support for advanced endoscopic procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, communicate, concentrate, and think critically.
- Moderate noise level.
- Visual requirements include color discrimination, depth perception, and both near and far visual acuity.
- Exposure to biological, chemical, and other hazards.
