We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Ware State Prison in Waycross, Georgia. Job Description:The Medical Assistant will work under the direction of the RN or LPN and be responsible for monitoring patient vital signs, implementing orders for diagnostic lab tests, and assisting the Physician with minor procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patient vital signs and implement orders for diagnostic lab tests
- Assist the Physician with minor procedures, such as injections and wound care
- Record and maintain accurate medical records
- Maintain and clean medical equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition
- Collect data for Quality Improvement programs, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current Georgia Medical Assistant license/certification
- Current CPR certification
- Phlebotomy certification required
- Corrections experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check
