POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Financial Executive Officer (FEO), you will hold the top financial position within SummitStone, responsible for steering the organization’s financial performance. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to enhance SummitStone's position as the foremost behavioral health provider in the region.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the FEO will provide critical insights and recommendations to the leadership team and Board, focusing on the strategic development of financial systems that ensure the organization’s stability and growth in the dynamic healthcare landscape.

The new FEO will need to adeptly manage both strategic and operational initiatives, including:

  • Integrating into the executive leadership team and establishing a collaborative partnership
  • Navigating the transition from a long-term capitation revenue model to a fee-for-service structure
  • Overseeing the full implementation of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) status
  • Redesigning and implementing systems to support recent growth and future service expansion
  • Assessing talent and planning for succession within the finance team
  • Aligning organizational culture and processes with strategic objectives

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for the Financial Executive Officer position will possess:

  • A proven track record in leading strategic financial initiatives and developing innovative support systems
  • Strong capabilities in financial modeling and data-driven decision-making
  • Expertise in Medicaid reimbursement and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare contracting
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to represent SummitStone effectively to various stakeholders
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment
  • Experience in integrating financial and operational systems to enhance organizational performance
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace

A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred. A CPA or CMA designation is strongly desired.
