Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Position Overview

Infosys is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist. In this role, you will be deeply engaged in consulting on business processes; your responsibilities will include identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and implementing them effectively.

You will mentor teams on project methodologies, deliverables, and play a key role in proposal creation, client education, and enhancing internal capabilities while helping to define project parameters.

This position offers the chance to develop impactful consulting solutions that assist our clients in adapting to the evolving global environment.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance or be open to relocating.
This role involves travel.
A bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of each year of education.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, constructing, and managing OpenStack environments that support high availability (99.99%) and low latency enterprise applications.

Proficiency in automation and DevOps tools such as Ansible, AWX, Terraform, and GitHub for over 7 years
Expertise in IP networking and design operations for over 7 years
Hands-on experience with server hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for over 7 years
Strong skills in Linux administration.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in deploying and managing RedHat OpenStack and/or RedHat OpenShift platforms
Experience in engineering and/or managing SAN or CEPH storage systems
5+ years of experience with HPE/Dell hardware and firmware management
3+ years of experience in VoIP (voice over IP) and telecommunications
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for automation scripts
Experience in designing, constructing, and managing Kubernetes platforms is a plus, but not mandatory.
Experience in designing, building, deploying, and managing Ceph storage in production settings.
Involvement in the company’s product lifecycle process.

Contributes to and/or develops product and technical specifications, detailed design documents including transaction, capacity, and bandwidth models, system definitions, and operational procedures as part of this process.

Understands key business drivers and applies knowledge of internal/external business issues to enhance products and services.
Anticipates and interprets client needs, assesses requirements, and identifies solutions.

Ensures that projects are effectively integrated into the Engineering team, executed promptly and efficiently, and smoothly transitioned into quality assurance and operations.

Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends comprehensive solutions based on best practices and proven technologies.
Solves complex issues by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
Provides guidance on the performance and reliability of various cross-platform applications and services. Ensures timely restoration of system failures.
Participates in failure reviews and provides feedback to prevent future occurrences.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. Must be available to work nights and weekends, with variable schedules as necessary. An on-call shift may be required approximately once every 8-12 weeks (subject to change).
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The role involves sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Effective communication via telephone, email, or face-to-face is essential. Travel may be required based on job needs.
