About the Role

FCCI Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our start-up Surplus Lines division. This is an excellent opportunity to join the division prior to its official launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment and Evaluation: Determine individual risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions by developing, analyzing, and evaluating information and exposures on risks of increasing complex technical nature with a high level of authority.
  • Market Research and Development: Research and develop new classes of business as directed, research market trends, and competition.
  • Market Viability Assessment: Assess market viability, suggest form wording on endorsements and exclusions, and support rate changes based on global strategy.
  • Policy Review and Analysis: Review individual risks submitted by assigned agents to determine acceptability within company guidelines, analyze exposures to loss, develop an adequate premium charge for the exposure, determine endorsements and exclusions to address loss exposures for the insurance contract, including developing manuscript wording appropriate to the risk.
  • Team and Individual Performance: Achieve team/individual production and loss ratio goals with assigned agents/brokers through sound book management and marketing.
  • Policy Maintenance and Audits: Oversee or handle policy maintenance items and other mid-term requests, as well as conducting midterm policy audits.
  • Training and Marketing: Travel to agent offices as required for training, marketing, or production visits, assist with development of marketing ideas and strategies.
