We are looking for a Middle Market Senior Underwriter to represent and develop business for Arch Middle Market
Your Team
From manufacturing and hotels to commercial real estate and professional services, our Middle Market Team offers flexible insurance solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in a wide range of industries, including General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, Inland Marine, Global Ambassador (DIC/DIL) and Foreign Exporter packages.

In this role as a Senior Underwriter, you’ll develop, grow and help steward a multi-coverage book of business while working closely with agents and brokers through frequent contact points (both in-person and virtually), provide a go-to support for the local territory, prospect, pipeline, listen and be an educator to the marketplace, assess risks, determine premiums, set conditions and negotiate in order to ensure profitability and meet new business goals.

Experienced in underwriting profitable Middle Market Multiline business (at least 4 years); Entrepreneurial-Minded: determined, focused, driven, decisive, authentic, adaptable, creative and interested in strategizing, growing, building and seeing the imprints of your own success; Customer Focused: you enjoy being the face and ambassador for your dedicated territory, fostering relationships, being a thought partner, collaborator, portfolio-builder with key stakeholders; Collaborative: you want to contribute to overall team success, mentoring underwriters in both technical and professional skills, as well as share best practices and partner with your teammates to identify opportunities for continuous improvement; A Problem Solver: you’ll crunch the numbers and review the data to determine risk selection, premiums, policies and conditions, as well as identify opportunities for improved growth, profit and diversification; A Strategic Account Manager: you’ll ensure a profitable book of Property and Casualty insurance by writing new accounts with varying premiums and complexity, growing successful agent and broker relationships; A Conscientious Professional: Understanding that the deal isn’t done until the paperwork is signed, you’ll document and compile comprehensive account reviews, state-compliant signoffs and referrals, letters of authority and underwriting guidelines; and A Clear Communicator: You’ll maintain and nurture successful relationships with agents and brokers, while presenting proposals, negotiating deals and obtaining approvals-
