Position Summary
The Floor Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the upkeep of all flooring surfaces while maintaining exemplary standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:

  1. Cleaning various areas including offices, hallways, and communal spaces.
  2. Relocating furniture as necessary before and after cleaning tasks.
  3. Performing comprehensive floor care activities such as mopping, stripping, buffing, and waxing.
  4. Accurately measuring and dispensing cleaning chemicals.
  5. Properly labeling and storing cleaning supplies.
  6. Maintaining and caring for cleaning equipment and personal protective gear.
  7. Monitoring and scheduling routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  8. Reporting maintenance concerns to your supervisor.
  9. Assisting in the collection of hazardous waste in accordance with safety protocols.
  10. Participating in ongoing training sessions related to compliance and safety.
  11. Completing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A foundational understanding of janitorial responsibilities.
  • Strong listening and communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients and the public.
  • Proficiency in English may be required for certain positions.
  • The ability to anticipate and meet client needs.
  • A professional appearance, with uniforms required at specific sites.
  • Punctuality and reliability.

Education and Experience
Preferred qualifications include:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of experience in commercial cleaning or facility maintenance.

Work Environment
The role will be performed in various settings, including:

  • Office environments of varying sizes.
  • Public and secure areas within facilities.
  • Potential exposure to dust, odors, and cleaning agents.

Physical Requirements
Employees must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive movements such as bending, reaching, and climbing.
