About the RoleWe are seeking a meticulous and experienced BI Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing pre-production versions of Power BI reports and dashboards to identify bugs, ensure that business and technical requirements are met, and sign-off on deliverables for production.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Power BI reports and dashboards
- Utilize SQL and other data validation tools to verify data accuracy and integrity within Power BI solutions
- Collaborate with Power BI developers and business analysts to communicate defects, missed requirements, and areas for improvement
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and backlog grooming
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into test cases
- Perform root cause analysis of defects and provide recommendations for resolution
- Document test results, track defects, and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and manipulation
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling principles
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated work style with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance testing, with a focus on business intelligence and data visualization
- Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI
