Exciting Opportunity at AECOM

We are seeking a talented and driven Civil Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at AECOM. As a key member of our project team, you will have the opportunity to provide invaluable engineering support and contribute to an exciting project in Orange, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose an approach to solving new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Requirements:

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or any related discipline and 4 years of relevant Process Mechanical Engineering or equivalent wastewater engineering work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • California Professional Engineering License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of relevant water industry-related work experience as a Process Mechanical Engineer or as Water / Wastewater Engineer.
  • Basic knowledge of Hydraulics Institute Standards.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, BIM360, REVIT, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work schedules.
  • MS Office proficiency.
