Customer Service Specialist (Intermediate)

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will play a vital role in our commitment to quality service. Our Customer Service Representatives are expected to maintain high standards while effectively managing multiple tasks. The ideal candidate will handle a range of telephone inquiries regarding various issues, consistently delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Addressing inbound calls related to general inquiries about claims or benefits, ensuring quality and first-call resolution.
  • Engaging with clients in a consultative manner, adhering to all relevant laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Negotiating with customers to resolve account-related issues.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate information on customer accounts.
  • Processing inquiries from internal team members regarding benefits or policies.
  • Updating and managing customer account information across various databases.
  • Providing clear explanations of programs, benefits, and policies.
  • Tracking call reasons to ensure successful resolutions.
  • Collaborating as both a team member and an individual contributor to achieve personal and team goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Customer Service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening abilities and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capable of resolving challenging situations with little oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, particularly in a contact center environment.
  • Background in the insurance industry is advantageous.
