2nd Shift Laminator Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laminator Assistant to join our team in a 2nd shift role. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting the Laminator Operator in ensuring the smooth operation of our laminating machines.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality checks and report any sheet quality issues to the Single Face Operator and Laminator Operator.
- Set up and operate the downstacker section of the machine, troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed.
- Lay mylar over label to determine die-cut lead edge and determine print registration tolerances.
- Collaborate with the crew to maximize machine efficiency through effective communication of quality problems.
- Communicate with the supervisor and other crew members regarding mechanical problems.
- Train with and assist the Laminator Operator with job duties.
- Perform duties of the Operator during breaks, which may require setting up the feeder.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Adhere to all safety and work rules, company policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work on elevated surfaces, frequently climbing up and down stairs.
- Must be able to stand constantly, bend, and reach with arms frequently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, if the machine is not equipped with a pallet inserter.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to communicate using a 2-way (noise filtering) radio headset.
- Experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in a press/laminating department.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
- Ability to work within a team, effectively communicating with members.
