POSITION SUMMARY:

An esteemed structural steel fabricator is seeking a Steel Estimator who possesses talent, initiative, and a strong drive to contribute significantly to their expanding organization. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct quantitative takeoffs.
  • Review and oversee project plans, specifications, and requirements.
  • Exhibit leadership skills to coordinate a team in developing estimates.
  • Assess labor and equipment costs.
  • Prepare precise quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials.
  • Comprehend project logistics and schedules in accordance with steel industry standards.
  • Evaluate all bid documents and identify project risks.
  • Collaborate with the project team to review quotes and estimates.
  • Generate estimates at various stages of completion (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.).
  • Facilitate pre-construction activities and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Act as the liaison between owners and architects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in steel estimating.
  • Detailing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in estimating software and advanced computer skills.
  • Extensive understanding of construction costs and engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with structural steel and miscellaneous metal concepts.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000.
  • Health benefits.
