Job Summary

As a Senior Estimator at McCownGordon Construction, you will lead successful project estimates and multiple projects at various stages of development. You will identify and communicate risk and improve opportunities, develop sufficient market knowledge and expertise, and increase your role with vertical market or team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Develop conceptual estimates and assist with client and design team management and relationship development.
Develop, manage, and coordinate preconstruction schedules and coordinate planning, permitting, utilities, etc.
Implement PFP plans and coordinate resources with Building Performance Solutions and other internal departments.
Manage master and project budgets and identify and manage risk in project budget regarding scope, schedule, and market conditions.

Estimating and Project Development

Lead development and management of project budget, estimating effort, final GMP, and overall estimating processes for individual projects.
Lead bid and trade partner selection processes and ensure effective value engineering and development of cost strategies.
Responsible for job cost budget transfers and maintain knowledge of market, costs trends, and cost history.
Track individual project preconstruction costs and network actively within the community and develop strategic relationships with trade partners.

Leadership and Business Unit Responsibility

Mentor associates and provide leadership to the department, delegate and manage workload of project team, and communicate staffing needs at project level.
Implement and maintain Company processes and procedures and implement training programs for associates to ensure their growth and adaptation to Company procedures.
Communicate regularly with direct reports regarding expectations, goals, performance reviews, and regular feedback through the year.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 7+ years' experience in Preconstruction or Estimating. Proficiency in computer applications, including Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take Off, MS Project, Microsoft Office applications, and any other company standard software appropriate for the position. Proven track record of proactive approach to issues/management, track record of establishing and maintaining a budget, demonstrated success in working effectively with trade partner market and A/E teams, demonstrated ability to take a leadership role on estimating projects from start to finish, and demonstrated ability to delegate, mentor, and lead associates.
