Shift: Full-Time 11am - 7pmKey Responsibilities
  • Interprets menus to estimate food needs and procures necessary ingredients from storage.
  • Prepares and cooks meals in accordance with established company standards.
  • Measures and combines ingredients based on recipes, utilizing various kitchen tools and equipment such as blenders, mixers, and ovens to create soups, salads, desserts, sauces, and other menu items.
  • Bakes, roasts, steams, broils, and fries a variety of foods including meats, fish, poultry, and vegetables.
  • Season foods during preparation and cooking, making necessary adjustments in consultation with supervisors.
  • Tastes and tests food to ensure it is cooked to the appropriate level of doneness.
  • Carves meats and portions food into serving dishes, adding sauces and garnishes as needed.
  • May wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits for meal preparation.
  • May assist in butchering meats and fish.
  • May bake breads and pastries.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Coordinates with other food service staff to minimize waste and optimize food production.
  • Responsible for replenishing food supplies and providing support on the service line.
  • Develops and selects recipes as necessary.
  • Prepares food according to established recipes.
  • Prepares meats and poultry for cooking by cutting and trimming.
  • Serves portions of cooked food with appropriate garnishing methods.
  • Follows prep sheets to prepare items for upcoming meals.
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of cooking experience in a long-term care or similar environment preferred.
