Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in Malden, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to provide evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages with speech, language, cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communicative, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individually tailored treatment plans to meet the needs of patients.
  • Assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Document diagnostic findings and patient performance in treatment programs.
  • Prepare accurate billing to reflect care provided to patients.
  • Orient, train, and mentor Speech Language Pathology and health care students to achieve stated performance expectations.
  • Identify and implement performance improvement opportunities to ensure best practices.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from an ASHA-accredited university program.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience for Advanced Clinician, 5 years for Clinical Specialist, and 10 years for Expert Clinician.
  • Licensed (and in good standing) or eligible for licensure in Speech Language Pathology by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or meet educational requirements for certification.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Appropriate knowledge of speech language evaluation and treatment techniques to manage the rehabilitation population.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for speech language evaluation, interpretation, treatment planning, and execution.
