Job Description:

As a Personal Support Specialist - Geriatrics, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our senior participants. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing hands-on assistance with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  2. Assisting with meal preparation and serving, adhering to dietary restrictions and promoting healthy eating habits.
  3. Collaborating with nursing staff to collect specimens, monitor oxygen levels, and record vital signs.
  4. Communicating medical concerns or changes in participants' physical, cognitive, or functional status to primary nurses promptly.
  5. Accompanying participants to medical appointments and other important events as needed.
  6. Maintaining a clean and safe environment by restocking supplies and performing daily assignments.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • HHA certification or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least one year of experience working with seniors is necessary.
  • You must be able to establish strong relationships with elderly individuals and anticipate their needs effectively.
  • Your duties will include taking vital signs, transferring participants safely, and communicating participant updates.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • A cooperative attitude and ability to work positively within a team are mandatory.
  • Intermediate Microsoft computer skills are beneficial.
  • Frequent local travel is required.
Salary and Benefits:

This role comes with a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits to support your overall well-being and professional development.
