Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team at International Paper. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle and maintain the flow of materials throughout the plant, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to production lines.
  • Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection reports and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Sort and debox materials, and move/stack pallets/materials on the production floor to optimize storage and workflow.
  • Dump gaylords, totes, and cages, and complete PMs for all certified mobile equipment regularly.
  • Meet physical demands of the job, including lifting 25-30 lbs, and maintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards.
  • Attend and participate in plant safety meetings, and report any safety or maintenance concerns to management.
  • Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool, and consumable usage, and communicate with floor lead on maintenance issues, downtime, production issues, and other concerns.
  • Adhere to plant policies and guidelines, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work any shift as needed, and work overtime as required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, and possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment, with excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Process improvement mindset, and on-the-job success in safety, attendance, and quality of work expected.
  • Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Hand Truck, Plastic Bander.
