Job Summary:

PeaceHealth is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures, integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.
• Prepare, supply, and equip exam rooms to meet the needs of requested examinations and specific physician requirements.
• Apply the ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self, staff, and patients, evaluating patients for pregnancy and/or breastfeeding prior to exams as indicated.
• Operate computer and nuclear medicine equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction, and documentation of images, performing quality control measures to ensure optimal quality images.
• Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to protocol, maintaining records of receipt, dispensing, and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Maintain records of equipment quality control, radiation monitoring, and surveys, performing other patient care activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned consistent with caregiver's scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.

Requirements:

• Accredited Program Required: Nuclear Medicine Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year prior experience preferred.
• Demonstrated venipuncture competency.
• PACS/RIS knowledge.
• Registered with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI), maintaining active registry with the state of Oregon OBMI.
• NMTCT or ARRT eligible; CNMT or ARRT(NM) certification required within 6 months of hire. May work under OBMI temporary license pending certification.
• Required: Basic Life Support.
• Valid Food Handlers Card as issued by an approved provider of the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for food handler certification.
