Job Summary

EisnerAmper is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Private Client Services (PCS) team, specifically in our Oil & Gas tax compliance group. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple client engagements, reviewing complex returns, managing staff, and conducting research. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to foster professional growth among our staff, and a deep understanding of oil and gas tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train, supervise, and develop associates and seniors.
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and firm leadership.
  • Cultivate expertise in oil and gas tax consulting and impart specialized knowledge to colleagues.
  • Prepare and review depletion schedules for tax returns with oil and gas activity, reporting income and expenses on a per property schedule.
  • Advise clients on oil & gas tax specific tax consulting, including selling leases, acquisitions, depletion, intangible drilling costs, etc.
  • Take responsibility for accurate time and billing for self and team.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the client's business, complete assigned tasks, and meet client deadlines.
  • Actively solicit new client relationships and participate in client/potential client seminars to expand networking opportunities.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, and proactively apply new knowledge to client engagements.
  • Collaborate with other tax professionals within the firm to coordinate efforts, share knowledge, and ensure efficient and effective delivery of tax services.
  • Hold self and direct reports responsible for achieving developmental goals.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development activities to enhance technical knowledge and develop industry-specific expertise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
  • 4+ years of tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or public/oil & gas industry mix.
  • CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certification required.
  • Relevant experience in oil and gas industry specifically tax compliance and consulting.
