As a Wind Energy Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of multiple wind energy facilities. Your primary focus will be on maintaining safety standards and optimizing the availability of equipment in alignment with the operational objectives. This position entails executing scheduled maintenance, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs, as well as conducting training and safety drills. You will also be responsible for the readiness and accountability of tools, machinery, and vehicles; providing technical support to the Operations & Maintenance team; and documenting service activities through a digital maintenance management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all operational and maintenance tasks are conducted safely, adhering to established protocols for the wind energy site.
  • Assist in the execution of acceptance and performance evaluations on systems and equipment following maintenance or outages.
  • Perform safety-related tasks and support other RWE locations as needed.
  • Contribute to turbine maintenance, including servicing, major component replacements, and troubleshooting.
  • Support Balance of Plant operations, including maintenance of substations and collection systems.
  • Uphold the company's core values and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in operations and/or maintenance within the power generation sector.
  • Alternative qualifications may include a 2-year or 4-year technical degree or a current journeyman or master electrician license.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Willingness to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance.
  • Ability to meet a personal weight limit of 270 lbs.
  • Capability to climb wind towers regularly and identify safety hazards.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, and knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Work Environment:
The role involves working in and around energized wind turbine generators and associated equipment, including office, warehouse, and outdoor settings.
