Job Opportunity: Part-Time Management Faculty

The Business Administration Department at Community College of Philadelphia is seeking qualified candidates to join our adjunct faculty pool as part-time management instructors. We are committed to providing high-quality education and training to our students, and we are looking for individuals who share our passion for teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Management courses, including Introduction to Business and Principles of Management, to students with diverse career interests.
  • Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and evaluate student learning in accordance with course standards.
  • Be available to students through email, phone, or personal conferences, with clear communication of contact methods and hours.
  • Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with FERPA regulations, submitting grades and records by established deadlines.
  • Meet all classes and scheduled responsibilities, including office hours and meetings, at designated times.
  • Commit to the College's Mission, demonstrating a sense of connection and responsibility for helping the College achieve success.
  • Participate in academic life, including graduation, recruitment events, and student life activities, creating learning opportunities for students inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate effectively, share vision, and foster a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Assess student learning and outcomes at the course, program, and institution levels.
  • Strive for excellence in teaching, applying best practices in the field of Management, and modeling behaviors that encourage student success and retention.
  • Utilize innovative teaching strategies and technologies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Management or a related field, with 18 graduate credit hours in Management fields for candidates with a degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of verifiable business experience in the Management field, excluding self-employment consultancy.
  • Ability to deliver required course elements, engaging students and making the course their own.
  • Willingness to revise and update courses.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to teach classes in the day, evening, at the main campus, and/or at Regional Centers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least five years of teaching experience, preferably at the community college level or higher.
  • Knowledge and/or willingness to develop and teach distance education and web-enhanced courses.
  • Active participation in industry-related professional development activities, meetings, and/or conferences.
  • Prior experience using Canvas Learning Management System.
  • Commitment to participating in the intellectual life of the department and the College.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching diverse student populations and addressing equity gaps.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching within a community college.
  • Bilingual or other language proficiency.
