**Job Summary**
The Optical Assembly Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and assembly of high-quality optical products at Volk Optical. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Inspect and polish lens products to ensure high-quality standards
- Identify defects and maintain accurate records of defects
- Manage inventory using a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with department standards
- Follow all employee guidelines and quality systems regulations to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with FDA regulations
- Read and follow job sheets, production drawings, and manufacturing assembly instructions
- Operate production machines under the supervision of a supervisor
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to resolve assembly issues and improve processes
- Assist in training new employees as needed
**Requirements**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of experience in a product assembly environment preferred
- Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions in a standardized environment
- Strong reading comprehension and writing skills for recording data and following instructions
- Basic math skills for inventory management and data entry
