About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions for seniors and individuals with special needs.

The successful candidate will have the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents and contribute to the mission of the West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

The Income Certification Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate records of certifications and resident files.
  • Conducting interviews with new applicants and existing residents to determine eligibility for housing programs.
  • Processing HUD/NYCHA Project Based Section 8, LIHTC, and HOME initial, interim, and annual certifications.
  • Preparing reports and documents for MOR reviews, LIHTC, and HOME tenant file audits.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with outside agencies and stakeholders.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in affordable housing compliance.
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or Assisted Housing Manager (AHM) designation required.
  • NY State Notary Public or ability to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Proficiency in using property management software.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
