Lead Systems Operations Specialist

Janus Research Group is in search of a seasoned Lead Systems Operations Specialist to become a vital member of our Tier 3 team. This team is dedicated to ensuring the effective operation and ongoing performance of critical systems.
The primary focus will be on supporting and managing the Enterprise Management System (EMS) component, which plays a crucial role in the overarching Army Training Information System (ATIS). The ATIS initiative is designed to provide a robust infrastructure for the management and delivery of standardized training to military personnel and other learners.
Through the ATIS program, we design, test, implement, operate, and maintain an enterprise-level system that delivers a cohesive operational view of the training landscape. This is achieved through integrated and interoperable capabilities for training development, management, scheduling, and delivery.
ATIS empowers Commanders, leaders, Soldiers, and civilians to comprehend, visualize, articulate, direct, lead, and evaluate training requirements effectively, facilitating comprehensive training planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate prior experience in assessing, evaluating, and preparing systems for security certification in accordance with established standards.
- Execute IAT Level II functions as outlined in the relevant documentation.
- Oversee, support, and fulfill server and application sustainment and operational requirements as directed by the Program Manager.
- Assist in managing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), providing weekly updates as necessary.
- Document meeting minutes, track issues, and communicate discrepancies to stakeholders.
- Lead and manage projects and teams to ensure alignment with customer expectations regarding schedule, cost, and quality.
- Participate in meetings with various levels of government and contract teams to support operations, sustainment, security, and modifications.
- Ensure compliance with all stated requirements in accordance with applicable regulations.
Experience and Skills:
Applicants should possess:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of DoD Enterprise Servers and Systems, including hardware and software components.
- 5 years of experience managing security and software updates within a large Windows-based Enterprise Environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to monitor and manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
- Experience in risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Prior experience working with military organizations is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with Remedy (CM), DNS, Domain Controllers, DHCP Servers, and various enterprise management tools.
- Experience with VMware, Cisco technologies, and security solutions.
- Knowledge of ACAS and VOIP systems.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field is preferred.
Certifications:
Must meet DoDD certification requirements for IAT Level II, including COMP TI Security + or equivalent certifications.
Clearance:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and successfully pass a background check. A Secret security clearance is required, in accordance with client specifications.
