Position Overview

As a Maintenance Supervisor at PacifiCorp, you will oversee a specific area within our maintenance department, ensuring that operational objectives are met effectively and efficiently. Your role will involve managing daily activities, implementing strategic plans, and fostering a productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance personnel and ensure the safe and efficient use of resources for equipment inspection, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and lead a motivated team to maintain equipment and facilities to high operational standards, ensuring optimal availability and production goals are achieved.
  • Conduct daily inspections of work areas to identify and rectify unsafe conditions, facilitating regular safety meetings.
  • Ensure all personnel are adequately trained in equipment operation and maintenance tasks prior to commencing work.
  • Maintain accurate repair logs, manage call-out reports, and procure necessary parts and materials for maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to communicate the status of maintenance tasks and ensure project continuity.
  • Promote a culture of safety by leading by example and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Foster employee development through goal setting, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and assist in resolving labor-related issues at the front line.
  • Complete federal inspection and hazard documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of five years of progressive maintenance experience in mining operations or engineering. Candidates must have a strong understanding of surface mining methods and possess relevant certifications, including Mine Foreman certification and MSHA electrical certification. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for managing and motivating a diverse workforce.
