Job Summary

The University of Michigan seeks a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager for Formal Conflict Resolution to join its Office of Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR) team. This is a 5-year limited term appointment with the potential to be re-evaluated for an extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Formal Conflict Resolution portfolio, including reviewing and triaging requests for services, conducting intake meetings, and coordinating and facilitating the resolution of student conflicts.
  • Evaluate and prioritize possible courses of action for current cases, make decisions on case management, and design and implement appropriate resolution processes.
  • Supervise student staff who facilitate student cases under the Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Work with highly sensitive, protected information with discretion and good judgment to maintain student confidentiality and attend to institutional risk-management concerns.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in student conduct, conflict resolution, or related field.
  • Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Social Work, conflict/dispute resolution, peacebuilding, or legal Studies.
Working Conditions

This position requires working with students through stressful, tense and/or emotionally challenging situations and circumstances, and addressing issues of power, privilege, and oppression. This position is designated by the University of Michigan as an Individual with Reporting Obligations (IRO) under Title IX.
