Faculty Position in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery and Ophthalmology

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a tenure-eligible faculty member with expertise in vitreo-retinal surgery and diseases. The ideal candidate will have experience in ocular oncology and a strong commitment to academic medicine. The Department serves as the ophthalmic referral center for a large geographic area, providing an abundance of patient volume and opportunities for advancement in ophthalmology.
The successful candidate will be commensurately compensated based on education and experience. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is identified. The University will conduct background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to the start date.

Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have an MD or equivalent by appointment start date and have completed a fellowship in surgical retina. The incumbent must be committed to a career in academic medicine and interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research. The candidate must be American Board of Ophthalmology certified or board-eligible.
