Position Summary

The Warehouse Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting the supervisor with the oversight and management of warehouse activities. This role focuses on key performance indicators such as Safety, Quality, Cost, Lead Time, Employee Engagement, and Environmental Compliance. Adhering to established work protocols and promoting safe working practices are essential to maintaining an efficient and secure warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee employee safety and productivity levels
  • Ensure facility security during assigned shifts
  • Maintain product quality in accordance with established standards
  • Verify cleanliness of equipment, premises, and structures in line with GMP standards
  • Ensure adherence to quality processes and procedures, addressing any deviations promptly and completing necessary documentation
  • Coordinate staffing requirements based on warehouse schedules and liaise with staffing agencies
  • Evaluate employee skills and arrange training as needed to ensure proficiency in equipment operation and procedures
  • Engage and guide team members in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supervise operations and processes, ensuring effective execution of warehouse procedures and equipment functionality to achieve departmental goals
  • Prepare equipment and materials for operational readiness prior to scheduled shifts
  • Analyze picking data to assess performance, implementing corrective measures for enhancement
  • Collaborate with other departments (materials management, production, maintenance, processing, and quality) to fulfill operational requirements
  • Conduct physical inventory checks with the team
  • Ensure Material Handlers verify the quality of incoming and outgoing materials and products
  • Develop and refine procedures, SOPs, and instructions as necessary, overseeing their implementation
  • Review daily performance metrics, leading shift meetings to communicate objectives and results
  • Allocate resources based on performance data and supply chain limitations
  • Input data and metrics for daily departmental needs
  • Report warehouse issues or activities to relevant departments and management as required
  • Ensure all project timelines are appropriately managed
  • Adjust employee rotations based on safety or quality concerns
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process
  • Adhere to all Quality policies & procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Follow all Safety policies & procedures and engage in monthly safety observations

Supervisory Role

This position collaborates closely with the supervisor to guide employees but does not have direct reports.

Work Environment

The employee will work in a manufacturing setting with the following conditions:

  • Regular exposure to cold environments
  • Frequent exposure to noise and vibrations
  • Occasional exposure to wet conditions

Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, coveralls, safety glasses, and hard hats is mandatory.

Position Type and Work Hours

This is a full-time role with varying days and hours based on departmental needs. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary. Coverage for vacations will be required as needed.

No travel is necessary for this position.

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Proficiency in computer applications including MS Excel, Outlook, and Word
  3. Mechanical aptitude
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and comprehension)
  5. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse setting

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Strong analytical skills
  2. Experience with Continuous Improvement Processes
  3. 1-2 years of experience in a leadership capacity
  4. Bilingual in Spanish and English

Work Authorization

Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Food Safety and Quality Assurance

This role is responsible for supporting the food safety management system and communicating any food safety concerns to the Quality Department.
