Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Team Lead to join our team in the Secondary Operations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Value Stream Team Manager in maintaining a consistent flow of product through the production process, while also facilitating daily team meetings and coordinating the timely completion of all scheduled clean ups and preventive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Production Planning and Coordination: Assist the Value Stream Team Manager in maintaining a consistent flow of product through the production process, in agreement with the planned level of production.
- Team Facilitation: Facilitate daily team meetings, plan product changes, color changes, and start-ups, and arrange for assistance from support departments as needed.
- Non-Conformance Process: Actively participate in the Non-conformance process as a contributor to identifying preventative action.
- Training and Development: Assist in training of new and experienced operators in new and existing procedures on the production floor.
- Procedure Review: Participate in procedure review meetings to make revisions to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communication: Communicate shift-to-shift information to the Value Stream Team Leader on the following shift.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate resource allocation within the value stream and with other Value Stream Team Leaders, if necessary.
- 5S Audits: Run weekly 5S meetings and coordinate completion of resulting tasks, and perform machine and area 5S audits.
- Quality Control: Coordinate reaction to final test and in-process rejections, and coordinate the processing of rejected material in the value stream.
- Leadership and Coaching: Responsible for leadership, coaching, and support of 10-20 team members.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience as a machine operator, with a valid certification in one or more departments.
- Self-Sufficiency: Must have a history of self-sufficiency when operating equipment.
- Continuous Improvement: Willingness to participate in and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Manufacturing SOPs: Familiarity of manufacturing SOPs and a demonstrated willingness to adhere to them, or revise them accordingly.
