Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Engineer is a key member of the Orthopaedic Hospital team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This role involves maintaining all building equipment and systems, as well as ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct daily inspections of central plant chillers, boilers, and coils to ensure optimal performance.
- Replace filters in all HVAC units and perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure.
- Complete work orders on a daily basis, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Repair electrical outlets and breakers, as well as replace light bulbs and ballasts throughout the facility.
- Manage the replacement of gases in critical areas, such as the Urgent Care and Outpatient Surgery Center.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, including sinks, wheelchairs, medical beds, and cast saws.
- Complete special projects, such as remodeling departments, framing, drywall, and painting.
- Test and maintain generators, plumbing systems, and fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Order parts and supplies, and maintain inventory levels to ensure that all necessary materials are available.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop area, and ensure that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Perform Fire Drills and participate in Disaster Drills as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four to six years of related experience and/or trade school training.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- DMV records acceptable for insurer of Medical Center vehicles.
