Job Summary

The Clark Regional Wastewater District is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant(s) to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal permits and protect the health and safety of District personnel, the public, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and record operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
  • Accurately record, document, and report information in various organizational platforms.
  • Use computer systems to track data, work orders, spare parts inventories, and maintenance records.
  • Regularly inspect equipment and recognize performance changes.
  • Maintain, clean, inspect, adjust, install, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild equipment typical of a modern wastewater treatment facility.
  • Operate and maintain various shop equipment, including welders, drills, grinders, and saws.
  • Skillfully utilize hand and power tools.
  • Organize and plan maintenance activities, including verifying and ordering parts, confirming equipment and tools required, labor needs, and coordinating any potential plant treatment process impact with operations staff.
  • Follow safety standards.
  • Follow District regulations, codes, policies, practices, and management directives.
  • Perform general maintenance required to keep working areas safe, clean, and professional, including general housekeeping duties.
Requirements
  • Washington State limited Non-residential Maintenance Electrician License preferred.
  • Other relevant certifications, training, or licenses such as millwright, electrical, welding, asset management will be considered.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with good driving record.
Working Conditions
  • May be subject to frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs or ladders, or working in confined spaces.
  • Work occurs indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Requires physical capability and mobility to navigate all types of surfaces and terrain.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May operate heavy equipment.
  • Potential exposure to high voltage electrical equipment, raw sewage, and/or odors or other hazardous atmospheres.
  • May be assigned to work alone or with others.
  • Work may be performed from ladders or scaffolding.
  • Wearing and/or using personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required to perform or monitor certain tasks.
  • Required to work after regular business hours and in emergency or inclement weather conditions.
