Role Overview

As a key member of the AI alignment perception team, your role will be crucial in developing automated, efficient, and user-friendly annotation tools that capture human feedback across various tasks, including reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) and complex multi-modal challenges. Your extensive full-stack expertise will enable you to work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to create adaptable components and robust systems. You will balance innovation with practicality, driving business objectives while establishing a solid technological foundation for future developments. As a technical leader, you will exemplify excellence in software engineering, inspiring your team to overcome challenges and deliver exceptional, customer-focused software solutions.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and technical leaders to deploy features, resolve issues, and reduce technical debt within a tech stack that includes TypeScript, React/Redux, GraphQL, REST, Python, MySQL, and GCP.
  • Provide technical guidance to your team, enhancing their problem-solving capabilities.
  • Work alongside the support team to address customer inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure continuous support for your team's systems.
  • Suggest and implement process enhancements to improve team and engineering efficiency.
  • Draft and review technical documentation to ensure timely delivery of sound solutions.
Candidate Profile
  • 8+ years of full-stack experience in developing and maintaining user-friendly, scalable, and reliable systems, with a strong emphasis on backend development, including API creation and management, database handling, and monitoring.
  • 4+ years of experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, Python, Kubernetes, and GCP.
  • 2+ years of experience with frontend frameworks such as React/Redux or Angular.
  • 3+ years of experience in providing technical leadership to a team.
  • A proactive mindset, willing to push boundaries to enhance team performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Self-driven and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment, crafting elegant solutions to complex problems.
  • A strong commitment to quality and testing, balancing the need for perfection with timely delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with computer vision methodologies.
  • Experience with RxJS.
  • Knowledge of WebGL and rendering frameworks.
